Welcome to my page!
I am a fine artist that works in a variety of mediums including pastel, acrylic painting, and ceramic. My work explores the relationship between physical objects or locations and the emotional responses and memories that are connected to them. I attempt to uncover why certain places and objects hold meaning to an individual beyond their mere physical existence. I am heavily inspired by the writing of Marcel Proust and the philosophical study of phenomenology. Fine artists that I draw inspiration from in my artistic work include Paul Cézanne, Edward Hopper, and Camille Claudel.
I grew up in the West suburbs of Chicago, Illinois, and I recently obtained a bachelor's degree in Art Education and French from Benedictine College. My work has been featured in several publications and exhibitions, including: the Loomings Arts Magazine of 2022, 2023, and 2024, the Benedictine College Student Art Exhibition of 2024, and most recently my solo art exhibition “Uprooted” in 2024. I currently live in Kansas City, where I teach high school art.
